Overview

The UBC Glaucoma Service is a tertiary care unit affiliated with the Vancouver General Hospital and Providence Health Care. It is oriented toward the provision of in-depth, multidisciplinary management of patients with glaucoma. The clinic sees approximately 1,000 new glaucoma cases per year and follows an even larger number of individuals with previously diagnosed disease.

Successful applicants to the fellowship programme can expect a thorough exposure to, and training in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma. This is a clinical fellowship, however, the research exposure can be tailored to the needs of the particular fellow as desired. Fellows attend the glaucoma clinics under the supervision of Drs. Dobrogowski, Mackenzie, Mikelberg and Schendel and participate in glaucoma rounds. They should complete at least one research project for publication during their year’s training.

How to Apply

The fellowship is a 12-month funded programme beginning July 1st and ending June 30th of the following year. Some flexibility in the start and completion dates can be arranged.

Please refer to the SFMatch website to register for the match and read about the process for applying to Ophthalmology Fellowship training. Once registered you can view our program listing on the SFMatch directory website for all required documents.
