Research

The UBC Ophthalmology Residency Program fosters and supports residents’ research interests! To do so, within the residency program, one half day a week is protected to work on research projects. The UBC DOVS hosts an annual research day and residents are required to present each year. This is an exciting full-day event where all members of the department, from medical students, graduate students, residents and post-doctoral fellows, share their research projects. We have also had a number of residents present at national and international meetings. Some residents may be interested in pursuing a post-graduate research degrees in their residency. Our program encourages residents to consider these programs and we will work with them to best obtain these goals along with those of the residency training program.
